The Alley Loop is not your typical Nordic Marathon. It is both a premier American Birkebeiner Qualifying event and Crested Butte’s most outrageous costume party of the year! The course winds through snowy streets, alleyways, and narrow bridges through the heart of downtown Crested Butte. Once you make it through town, you are rewarded with pristine tracks and exhilarating vistas throughout the Crested Butte Nordic trail network.

If you like normal, you may want to look for another race.  If you are up for anything… this is right up your alley!

We are a collective of coaches, consultants, and change makers who are deeply passionate about supporting leaders and everyday renegades for the complex and urgent problems of today’s world. We are hosting the inaugural Unlearn Remember and Rewild festival in Crested Butte, CO. We gather in community, connection, regeneration, and collectively taking the tools from this event to our respective communities through camping, hiking, talks and interactive workshop, connection with nature and each other. This event is the true impetus of “thinking global, acting local”, as we connect with the Vinotok Festival at the end of the week.
This 7 day event (Sept 17 – 24) will be held in the mountains of Crested Butte, at Center for the Arts Crested Butte. We welcome any and all who are, wish to be, aspire to be, or are just curious to be agents of change for the direction we are going as a society and activism for conservation, sustainability, and social and political change agents.
Are you a passionate, fierce, change oriented person who is exhausted, bewildered by the unrelenting uncertainty of the future and looking for community to inspire you and infuse you with motivation? Then please join us.
Scholarships, local passes, daily passes, and full summit passes are available in efforts to keep this event accessible to all.

Emma Coburn, winner of 2017 World Championship Steeplechase, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, 2019 World Silver medalist, 9 time US Champion, and one of Crested Butte’s most recognized athletes founded the race in 2017 to give back to her community by staging a world-class road race and event in Crested Butte, CO and including a charitable component to help support Gunnison Valley. The race draws top athletes, including Olympic and World medalists, from around the state and globe. The event features 1,000+ runners, volunteers, and spectators

The Grand Traverse Mountain Bike is no ordinary mountain bike race. It is a point-to-point from Aspen to Crested Butte, Colorado. In total, bikers travel 40 miles across the Elk Mountains with over 7,800′ of elevation gain. The course starts with a 3000′ ascent up Aspen Mountain before continuing deep into the Elk Mountains. This mountain bike race is not for the faint of heart.
