28 – July 1 Crested Butte Mountain Theatre presents Urinetown
An award-winning Broadway hit, Musical Theatre International calls it: “One of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years, Urinetown is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold…” The story line opens with a twenty-year drought, causing a terrible water shortage, making private toilets unthinkable. 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 4:00 p.m. $25 Adults, $15 Students. 2 – 9 Piper Gallery: Adam Freed, Oil Paintings on Canvas
Local Crested Butte artist Adam Freed presents “Crested Butte Impressions.” Adam’s beautiful impressionistic landscape paintings are oil on canvas and serve as an intrinsic need for self-expression. Adam was born and raised in the city of Poughkeepsie, New York. From a very early age, he demonstrated a strong interest in drawing and painting and pursued these inter-ests throughout his schooling and eventually graduated from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. Adam taught elementary school art for three years before leaving the profession to travel in Europe. 2 Alpenglow: MarchFourth Marching Band,
Second Line Parade & Double Whammy 25th
Birthday Party
Get down and get funky at the 25th Birthday Party for Center for the Arts and KBUT. Start at the top of Elk at 4:45 p.m. for a Second Line Parade. MarchFourth is joined by freak-flag flyin’ citizens to weave Townie Takeover style through the streets to the wildest Alpenglow ever. The MarchFourth Marching Band is a mobile big band spectacular, propelled by electric bass, a diverse percussion ensemble and brassy horn section. Visually enhanced by costumed dancing beauties, acrobatic stilt walkers, unicycles, fire arts, life size marionettes, and many more theatrics. Opening band Iola hits the stage at 5-ish p.m. with MarchFourth beginning at 6-ish Free.

Shared Artist’s Space
If you’re looking for an affordable place to work on your art and a community of artists to work with, then become a Member of the Shared Artist’s Space (SAS). Membership includes: access to studio space seven days a week; personal storage for art supplies and works in progress; access to potter’s wheels, slab roller, wedging table, and basic ceramics tools and supplies; use of kiln, access to a community of artists, and the potential to show and sell your work at ASCA. 29 Poi, Awareness, and the Art of Flow

30 Introduction to Stilt Walking
Presented by the Crested Butte Dance Collective. Come have a blast learning how to stilt walk with the CBDC! 1 Beginner/Intermediate Hula-Hoop Dancing
Presented by the Crested Butte Dance Collective.
Lealyn Poponi has been teaching and performing hoopdance in Gunnison and Crested Butte since August of 2008. She has taken instruction from some of the best hoopers in the U.S. and Canada including Safire of Safire Dance Inc. and Jonathan Baxter of Hoop-Path. An avid exerciser of all forms, Lealyn has found hula hooping to be the most complete, addictive, joyous form of exercise she has found. She does it for hours a day and says, “The hoop will flirt with your heart, flex your brain, massage your muscles and call your energy out to play. 3 Live Painting Series at the Lobar
Bring the art of painting to life on the Lobar stage every Tuesday night in July. Watch the pros paint to music while splattering paint across your own canvas with expert instruction from the rotating roster of featured painters. Each participant (who is 21 years of age) will be supplied with libations while painting. Don’t be shy!
