We love the Alpenglow Concert Series! The sun, the mountain, music in the air, family, and friends gathering and hanging out, catching up. It’s one of CB’s most beloved summer pastimes.

We are currently planning a reduced schedule of five concerts.

Here’s the lineup so far:

Know before you ‘glow

There are a few rules and regulations we must follow to continue bringing the concert series to you and we ask that you read this and respect the policies.

NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL
The Center for the Arts sells beer, wine, and liquor under a special events license with the Town of Crested Butte. As such, no outdoor alcohol is allowed at the event. Please respect this policy and refrain from bringing your own alcoholic beverages. Support the Center and future Alpenglow concerts by purchasing your libations through the Center’s bar.

NO PETS
As much as we love your furry family members, dogs are not allowed in Town Park. Please leave your pets at home.

NO GLASS
Glass is not allowed in Town Park. Please bring your nonalcoholic beverages in cans or plastic containers.

DO NOT EMPTY YOUR ICE CHEST
Please respect Town’s regulation to not empty your ice chest on the park lawn. The ice and chilled water can freeze and kill the grass.

Trek for Life is held in September every year.

Trek for Life and Pedal Your Butte Off! have been leading the fight against suicide in high-latitude mountain towns since 2019 and are working to raise awareness and eliminate the stigma associated with mental health illness by providing mental health services for those who are underinsured.

To date, Trek for Life, along with other groups, has positively impacted the lives of those living in these communities. Through a better understanding of the complex factors behind the high rates of suicide and the environmental impact that living at high altitudes has on our bodies, we’ve begun to see a lowering of the rate of suicide!

A forum for civic engagement.

Join us at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte for our speaker series.

We are honored to provide an admission-free program to encourage all members of our community to attend.

Free and open to the public. Registration required. General seating, masks required. Bar available.  For a full schedule and other possible COVID-related restrictions, visit the Crested Butte Public Policy Forum.

This annual epicurean celebration is back with gusto. Join us for winemaker dinners, informative seminars, a glamorous vintner gala, and everything in between — headquartered at the new Center for the Arts in the heart of Crested Butte.

The Crested Butte Wine and Food Festival is an annual fundraiser for the Crested Butte Center for the Arts, the premier visual and performing arts venue in the region. For over 30 years, the Center has been dedicated to providing arts and cultural experiences that inspire and entertain all audiences, whether they call Crested Butte home every day or just for the weekend.

All proceeds from the Wine and Food Festival directly allow the Center to sustain its year-round programming, including the free Alpenglow summer concert series, a range of enrichment activities for local children, and diverse programming in literary, culinary, visual, and performing arts for the entire community. In our new facility, the Center has even more capacity to provide meeting and event spaces to local nonprofits at reduced rates, including the School of Dance, the Crested Butte Music Festival, the Public Policy Forum of Crested Butte, the Crested Butte Community School, and more.

stay safe together

The highest priority for Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival is and has always been the safety and health of our participants, staff, volunteers, and our culinary and winemaking rockstars. All festival events will comply with state and local public health guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival.

Only in Crested Butte would we come up with a gravity-fed race like this. Bigger bikes. Bigger costumes. More ridiculous antics. Do whatever it takes to get you here in time for the Chainless. Racers weigh down their bikes, put on ridiculous costumes, and remove their chains before racing the seven miles from Kebler Pass into downtown Crested Butte.

The race starts at 4:20 pm sharp, and the one who stays off her brakes the most wins. Well, actually, everybody wins. Even the spectators hanging out at the end of Elk to watch the carnage.

Gunnison is home to Colorado’s oldest rodeo. Over a century old, Cattlemen’s Days is a true celebration of Gunnison’s western and ranching heritage. Attend a dance at the Elks Lodge, hear some cowboy poetry or a great band at the I Bar Ranch, and make sure you don’t miss one of the three big nights of PCRA rodeo!

The Crested Butte Mountain Theatre is in its 48th consecutive year, making it the longest-running community theatre in Colorado. Their mission is to entertain, educate, and enrich the Crested Butte community and greater Gunnison Valley by providing a well-balanced theatrical season of high artistic quality.

A number of creative productions and an exciting Youtheatre are on tap, don’t miss the entertainment!

Due to high demand, we expect events to sell out for this summer’s Festival quickly. Register as soon as possible to secure your spot!

The Crested Butte Music Festival (CBMF) was incorporated in 1997 following a series of informal winter concerts beginning in 1995 as a way to enrich the Gunnison Valley community. Formerly known as the Crested Butte Chamber Music Series and the Western Slope Music Festival, the early seasons encompassed one to three weeks of primarily classical music.

In 2000, the festivals merged together to become what is now known as the Crested Butte Music Festival.

Now in its 25th year, CBMF continues to feature distinctive genres such as chamber pieces, contemporary classical works, operas, gypsy jazz, bluegrass classic jazz, and indie rock.

As well as live performances of world-class music, education remains a central component of CBMF’s mission; opportunities in every genre abound during the summer and include camps, interactive musical experiences, masterclasses, lectures and workshops for all ages. Its diverse programming, intimate, high quality performances, and connections fostered between performers, their audiences and supporters distinguish the Crested Butte Music Festival.
