Crested Butte Dance Collective’s sell-out smash hit Move the Butte is a community dance and performance arts show that celebrates and showcases the creativity and connection we share through dance. Adult local dancers, artists and choreographers converge on stage in a stun-ning variety of dance modalities. This year features African; Hip Hop; Burlesque; Lyrical; Feather Fan; Butoh, Irish; Hoopdance; Modern Fusion; Jazz; Tap; Ballet: Aerial Trapeze, Silks and Hoops; Spoken Word and Contact Improvisation. 8:00 p.m. $15 for adults / $7 for chil-dren. 5 AFRICAN DANCE CLASS
The Crested Butte Dance Collective and Center for the Arts bring in the rhythm with African Dance. These high-energy dance classes to live drumming explore a variety of traditional African movements and rhythms from Guinea to Zimbabwe. The 80’s pop star who built his fame on Philadelphia Soul with duet partner Daryl Hall is returning to his roots. Now touring extensively throughout the U.S. as a solo artist, John has recently released his album Mississippi Mile focusing on the music emanating from this one geo-graphical place. Meet every Wednesday from March 7—April 25 for eight weeks of watercolor classes. This course is designed for non-art majors who are looking to learn the basics of watercolor paintings or improve upon current painting skills. No experience required.
