Wednesday, Dec. 29: Official Opening & Dedication of new nordic ski trail, Mike’s Mile
This new trail is named for Mike Martin, the former owner of the Pioneer Guest Cabins and Alpineer, and an ardent mountain biker, skier, and outdoorsman. He helped found the Elk Mountains Grand Traverse, and was a key supporter of the Crested Butte Music Festival. Mike was tragically killed in a plane crash in 2005.
Noon – Meet at the north end of Magic Meadows on the Lower Loop and all can ski / showshoe out together. No walking on the groomed trails, please.
No trail pass is required for the dedication – everyone welcome!
